25th august 2007Day a hundred and thirty four.
we spent a day at home. a saturday. the sun was out, mere showers in the early morning but we didnt go out. she had assignments to complete by the week after while i had major tests to study on. we both woke up late today. i woke up at 845 while the other pig slept on till 930. i stayed in the room till 915 studying hoping she'll wake but she didnt so i went out to eat breakfast on my own.
accounts and economics on the same day. maths test ( which is yet to be confirmed. probability it'll be out say 1/2) on wednesday. chemistry written practical test on monday and english assignment to be completed by next week. somehow, im not liking next week at all.
emotions ran high in the morning. we cried together side by side. she made me cry after rambling on and on about everything. just two months here and she's been flooding my waste paper basket with herds of tissue soaked from her tears. just two months here and i had to buy another box of tissue to accomodate her. my four months here only required a box. A BOX. and she needed TWO just for two months.
somehow she going through what i went through in my first few months. although she had it easier than me. she has me to cry on i had no one. im just glad i had my parents and friends to support me throughout that period. we both didnt understand why we had to go through so much restriction and adhere to all their means while staying in their house. it was like changes didnt appeal to their liking. us coming over to stay was already a big change. the habits of ours was another one.
the internet. i cant say how much trouble i went through to get it started up (the connection and the rules i had to abide to) say the turning off of the modem before i turned in which meant me having to get out of the room to switch it off. ive had countless lectures from her reminding me the consequences of my actions of not turning it off the night before. one foolish act of sleeping in without remembering it had caused me a lecture in the early mornings. sometimes, you could get it from two of them. charmaine's dealing with the lectures now and its's not been good for her either.
another rule was stated by her today as a result of our silly childish act of complaining to our parents on the hassle of switching off the modem before we turned in. she made me do this.
a sign 'internet in use' made by ME.
ITEMS NEEDED:
cardboard or hardback paper
black marker
scissors
glue
loads of creativity
- a whole lecture on the purpose of making this stupid sign
PURPOSE OF THE SIGN:
she CLAIMED it was supposed to remind her kids not to turn the modem off while we were working online. she said kids are kids and they tend to forget while they switch off the net by their bedtime leaving you with no connection while you are halfway through an online test. i THINK its more so for the purpose of getting us to remember to switch off the modem after use since there were countless times charmaine has forgotten to since she works till late into the wee hours of the morning.
HOW TO USE THE SIGN:
if you are using the net, place to sign beside the desktop in the computer room outside. if the kids are on the net, they will notice the sign since its so obvious ( all thanks to me) before they turn in, they will remember to leave it on for you. before you turn in, take back the sign and turn the modem off.
NOTE: the sign must always be in your room when youre not using the net.
we laughed a hell lot after lunch. i promise you i didnt take any chocolates or red bull ( and besides i onlly took two sips from a friends drink- it tasted like seven up) i still dont get how it keeps you alert and awake. so much for the advertising on the back label.
looking at old pictures of us when we were young is really funny. we couldnt study much. i was browsing through the pictures she was doing her accounts till she stopped since it was all too much from all the laughing we did. we looked so 'toot' as you call it. sharon seemed like the only human one in the picture. pretty and demure in every one of her pictures. one looked like an aunty from the fish market while the other looked a nerd in the making. gosh, back then i hate to say it but my fashion sense sucked so badly.
im glad to say im perfectly human now.
